Awards
Over the past two decades, my teams and I have been recognized with the industry’s most prestigious regional and national awards, highlighted by a Peabody, a duPont-Columbia, 15 Emmy® Awards, and more than 40 nominations. Below are a few of the most prominent, along with my role.
National Overall Excellence (RTDNA)
2025 | KING 5 Media Group
Named best in America, the industry’s highest honors for overall content across digital and broadcast. As a project manager and creative producer for long-form storytelling, I drove the cinematic approach that set us apart.
Station of the Year (NPPA)
2023 | KING 5 Media Group
Named runner-up for Best Visual Storytelling Station in America in back-to-back years, the highest honors recognizing excellence in production and post-production craft. I contributed content to the award-winning reel as part of my team.

Station of the Year (NPPA)
2022 | KING 5 Media Group
Named runner-up for Best Visual Storytelling Station in America, the highest honors recognizing excellence in production and post-production craft. I contributed content to the award-winning reel as part of my team. We were a finalist nearly every year under my leadership.
2021 | "Bob's Choice"
One of the most prestigious awards for individual content and a career-defining achievement. I served as director of photography, creative producer, and executive producer on this 30-minute documentary, overseeing its funding, creative direction, and completion.
2020 | "Facing Race"
A career-defining achievement. I served as director of photography, creative producer, and executive producer for the 13-part series, notably scaling the project for repeatability, shaping its visual style, and collaborating cross-functionally with marketing and the team to guide the creative direction.
2020 | "Facing Race"
Winning even one Peabody, duPont, or Scripps Howard Award is a career-defining milestone. In a single year, I was honored with all three, known collectively as the “journalism triple crown."

West Station of the Year
2015-2017 | KING 5 Media Group
For three consecutive years — my first three in a leadership role — KING was recognized as the best visual storytelling staff in the Western U.S., specifically for the work delivered by my team. We were recognized five times under my leadership.
Emmy® Award
2015 | Photographer, Craft
Recipient of a Regional Emmy® Award for a reel highlighting my work across quick-turn, feature, and long-form storytelling. In total, I’ve received 15 Emmy® Awards and over 40 nominations. While not the pinnacle of my work, it is among the most recognized.

2013 | Matt Mrozinski
In a peer-judged competition, I was named the top photojournalist in the Western U.S., competing against hundreds of peers. The recognition was based on a portfolio of short-form and long-form work compiled over four quarters, spanning 12 stories.
