Work Experience
May 2010 - Present
September 2015 - March 2026
Brand Storyteller & Social Media Specialist
Storytellers LLC (Seattle, WA)
I founded and lead Storytellers, a social media and storytelling company with three integrated service lines: video production for brands and creators; consulting for news organizations and digital influencers on storytelling and social strategy; and a 25,000+ member professional network of journalists and content creators.
Director of Visual Storytelling
NBC | KING 5 Media Group (Seattle, WA)
My role was to lead visual storytelling strategy across social, streaming, and linear platforms, managing a large team of multi-platform content creators while mentoring dozens more in advanced storytelling and production practices. I also delivered hands-on content while driving operational rigor and consistent execution across teams. I was entrusted to lead our prized long-form storytelling teams, contributing to millions of dollars in revenue.
August 2013 - August 2015
Director of Photography
NBC | WTHR-TV (Indianapolis, IN)
Similar to my duties as Director of Visual Storytelling, but in a smaller market. Fun fact: we launched The Pat McAfee Show in 2014. Additionally, I launched and led the station’s Instagram account ahead of widespread platform adoption, scaling it to 130K followers and positioning it as a key driver of audience engagement and marketing impact. After just two years of my leadership, the staff was recognized nationally as one of the top visual storytelling stations in the country for the first time in the station’s history.
December 2010 - August 2013
Video Producer/Editor
NBC | KING 5 Media Group (Seattle, WA)
As a multimedia specialist, I created end-to-end content independently and collaboratively, delivering large-scale projects tied to ratings and millions in revenue. I partnered across teams and earned multiple honors, including several Emmy® Awards and repeated recognition as one of the top photojournalists in America.
October 2007 - December 2010
Video Producer/Editor
NBC | WAVY-TV (Portsmouth, VA)
This is where my storytelling expertise truly launched. After just a few months of focused mentorship and countless hours of passionate study outside of work, I emerged on the national stage. Within a year at WAVY-TV, I earned recognition from my colleagues as the best photojournalist in America, along with runner-up honors from a separate panel of industry experts.

Communication and Media Studies

IUP is widely recognized for its education and communications programs. I spent countless hours at the student-run TV station honing my craft and was honored with the station’s Senior of the Year Award.

A National Blue Ribbon School, this is where I discovered my love for storytelling. I was one of the rare students who knew early what my purpose was—and I never turned back.
